I have a very limited number of family members who are alive or willing to be an active part of my life. It's not something I am depressed about or complaining about...it just is what it is. Someone a while back told me, "How lucky you are. Now you get to CHOOSE who is a part of your family! No drama...people would pay big bucks for that!" Ever since I was "enlightened", I have been collecting friends, old and new, to give pieces of my heart to and to be my support and the warm fuzzy family I always wanted. Sarah, her hubby Scott, and her baby Will are a ginormous part of that.
How exciting it was to have Will (and of course, Sarah and Scott) come visit us before Thanksgiving. We played at the park, played band and camp out, watched Will's science experiment with butternut squash, had a fantastic dinner at Cafe Malaga, and drank more wine than you will ever know!
Here are some of my favorite frames from our "family" get-together.
