I'm back! Hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving break, including but not limited to sweet potatoes, pumpkin flavored anything, and hugs. My favorites.
What am I thankful for (besides my incredible family, of course)? I have to say, at this juncture in my career, that I am most thankful for clients who hire me because they believe in me and my ability to tell their story without pretenses. My couples trust me so much, that the groom from last weekend's wedding actually handed me a blank check and told me to, "Just fill it in. I trust you." Now that's crazy trust! I love it. It means the world to me that there are couples (and families, for that matter) out there who resonate with my vision to the point where they don't question a thing. That trust and connectedness allow me to be free and to really get inspired by who these people are and how they relate to one another. So THANK YOU. THANK YOU to all of the people I get to photograph for being vulnerable in front of my camera, and for also being my friends. I love you all.
Now, here are some people who are a perfect example of clients who let me do my "thang". Heather was one of my sorority sisters at TCU, the school where she just happened to meet her future husband, Ben. Pretty, kind, and insanely smart, Heather has always had it "together", and having such a great guy in her life is no exception. These two are clearly soul mates, in a very mature and profound way. I was so excited to get to know more details to their love story during their engagement session. Finding out about Heather's ring (it was Ben's grandmother's), the proposal, Heather's propensity to snuggle into the crook of Ben's neck...it all really reaffirmed my stance on making engagement sessions a part of my services. It feels great to make images that I know will matter to Heather and Ben's future children and grandchildren. I'm really looking forward to photographing their wedding day, coming up in February in...where else? The town where our Horned Frog football team resides---Fort Worth!
And in case you are feeling like you have seen this house before, you have. Heather and Ben bought it from Ashley and Chris, parents to sweet Caroline. Welcome to my big, crazy photo family!
