(Just so you understand the ordering, the first 6 images are from Dress Rehearsal, and the ones that follow are from the actual Recital.)

Not because of what they are, but for who they are as people, I adore them. She is one of the kindest, most thoughtful brides I have ever worked with, and he is a true blue gentleman. The way they interact tells me that even non-believers would have to agree that God planned for these two kids to be together. They just MAKE SENSE and are perfect for each other. Their parents should be so proud for ten million reasons!
I'll hopefully be able to show you more of their engagement session after their wedding, but for now, here are two of my favorite images that still allow this sweet couple to live in anonymity*.
Anyone who uses these images other than Kate Mefford or this amazing couple will be hunted down.
I can guarantee you that. Have a wonderful day! =)
i know i know!!!! EEEEEEEE!!!!!! these are fab. SO hope we get to see them all someday!
(06.14.10 @ 07:16 PM)Love the shots and your respect for their privacy...it was all a buzz in town when the engagement happened. Very fun to get to meet them. All that I've read and seen, he's an amazing guy!
(06.14.10 @ 12:42 PM)I heard of how my sweet cousin loved your work and wanted your perspective behind the camera and I had to check you out! I'm an emerging photographer in Southern Utah and you are in inspiration. Gotta love these two!!!
(06.11.10 @ 01:00 PM)I'm with Bobby! It's got to be Heidi and Spencer...you were in Cali not too long ago!
(06.09.10 @ 10:28 PM)KATE! I lurve that top image. So much story in a most minimalistic way. Genius sneak peek!
(06.09.10 @ 03:31 PM)I can't imagine who this is?! Haha Love the pics, again, you are amazingly talented!! Thanks for sharing!
(06.09.10 @ 03:31 PM)Anywho, while I was up east, I got an email about the Wedding Photojournalist Association's 2010 1st Quarter Photography Contest and check out the winners. Discovered this little gem as I was lookin', and I was so glad to see that the judges liked this image of Diana and her homegirls just as much as I do!
BOOM. That's how Kate does. I love the intelligent humor here. The last thing the world needs is another cheesy wedding photo. This is the Arrested Developement of wedding pics!
(06.09.10 @ 03:54 PM)WOW! Way to go, Kate!
Congrats, baby! You are the best!
(06.08.10 @ 12:30 PM)That's fantastic! So happy for you! I am always impressed by your "outside-the-box" ideas for capturing a bride's special moments.
(06.08.10 @ 09:12 AM)Congrats! I loved this photo, too, and it's great to see the recognition for 'nontraditional' wedding pics.
(06.08.10 @ 07:55 AM)Wow....congrats to you my friend!
(06.07.10 @ 10:08 PM)Lauren + Alex were married a couple of weeks ago at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church in McKinney. Opting for mostly photojournalistic coverage, we took family portraits for 5 minutes, and then, ZOOM! The newlyweds were off to their Grand Hotel reception on the Vespa...representin' for Alex's Italian heritage! It was a fabulous night filled with the truest, warmest sentiments, and I hope these images help Lauren + Alex and sweet Collin to remember it forever.
I can't wait to hear all about your European honeymoon adventures, Lauren + Alex! Also, best wishes in Houston, and please stay in touch.
Much love to you and your families and friends!
well, i was going to say "STUNNING" but someone already did. so then i thought i would say "IN SANE" but someone said that too. "AMAZING, FABULOUS, and FANTASTIC" sound cliche- SO, i guess i will say simply- "these are really good" :) love them. and SHE is BEYOND LOVELY!
(06.07.10 @ 10:57 PM)Kate there are some stunning images here... Love ur work!
(06.07.10 @ 03:38 AM)Kate these are fantastic!!! It took me about 16 pics before I realized that I shot a wedding at that same church last year. :) The dancing shot could not be more amazing! I love them all!
(06.03.10 @ 10:32 PM)Ditto Bobby! Kate these are the best ever. Bride and Groom on the Vespa is my all time favorite!

(06.01.10 @ 03:04 PM)Love it!!! Some of your best work ever!!!!
(06.01.10 @ 03:04 PM)Beautiful work Kate! That reflection shot in the church is amazing!
(06.01.10 @ 02:11 PM)His fantastic event planning mama, Sarah, threw him a first birthday, straight out of a magazine, in the most darling cowboy theme. There were cowboy hats, BBQ, denim and burlap, cactus juice, baby animals (Millie, aka future veterinarian, was in hog heaven), and even 'ritas for the 'rents. My favorite catering company, Kurant Events, did the catering, and it was so good that it has left me craving their potato salad for a solid week. Yum!
It was great to see lots of old friends and of course, Millie's new besties, Courtney and Amy of Caplan Miller Events and the rest of the CME girls.
To finish the party, we discovered our favorite get-along-little-doggie, Noopsy, gnawing on a chicken bone. I guess he like the fried chicken just as much as everyone else! (No worries, we rescued him before he got too attached to it.) What a fun shindig!
WHAT FUN!! With Kate getting the great pics and the adorable Caplan Miller girls--- y'all can make anything AMAZING!!! LOVE LOVE LOVE IT ALL!!!!!
(06.04.10 @ 07:08 PM)i want my mills back!!!! and noopsy!!!!!!
