Welcome!
I'm so very ecstatic that you decided to join the party.  It is my life's passion to keep you entertained through my photographs of weddings, babies, my family, and pretty much anything that moves me.

Stick around and become part of the family.
Come early, come often, leave comments.

So cute, they are, that B & B.  Brecht and Brandon booked with me what seems like eons ago, so I've gotten the chance to get to know then (especially Brecht) a bit.  What I can say about this smashing, dashing, tremendously good looking couple is that, though they turned 1500 heads during our engagement shoot, they are incredibly down to earth and completely clueless of how cute they really are.  Though Brecht is definitely a detail-oriented creative, planning go-getter and Brandon is more of the mellow, big-picture scanning variety, they are both quite charming in their own ways as well as together.  They work.  They know this.  They've been together for over 5 years, so they are in it to win it!  Big money.  No whammies.  Score.  Plus, their dog, Reise, is the icing on that fabulous wedding cake.  Check out this family to be below!

It's gonna be a long wait till their wedding in October, but it will be so worth it.
Hugs to you both, B & B, and give Reise a snuggle from me, too!

What a cute couple! Love all the photos with the great colorful details in the background, but might have to say my favorite is the black and white. So simple and intimate!

Okay, so they're NOT from the future, but they ARE modern.  We're modern parents, so it's only natural that our children match that.  Modern kids like modern art...they're not yet into that Renaissance-y stuff, as Jackson Pollock seems more like what they are into.  I'm guessing that Pollock's splatters are beyond their school classmates' scribbles, but they've gotta kinda look familiar.  I'm just sayin'.

So, during this fine spring break, Joanna and I rounded up our kids and took them to Fort Worth's Modern Art Museum.  If I said, "Don't run!" or "Hands behind your back!" once, I said it thirty-seven times, but all in all, we survived.  Actually, we did better than "survive".  We had a wonderful experience.  Joanna and I were jonesin' to see the Andy Warhol:  The Last Decade exhibit, and Millie, Sloan, and Jack just wanted to get out of the house and see something new.  We saw an exhibit made of candy, one that the kids could catwalk on, and recreated the same photograph I took of Millie three years ago.  We were all pretty inspired by the time we left (though the kids were pretty repulsed by Warhol's urine painting), and I'm looking forward to the next museum trip with this gang!

Baby Will is just getting so big and knows way more tricks now.  He can't get enough of me.  During my stay in Austin a couple of weekends ago to photography Lydia + Ed and Brecht + Brandon, I even got to babysit Will for a night!  We've definitely bonded, and he loves to give me kisses.  I miss him already!!!

Damn, Will looks like he is ready to ROCK!!!!!
I mean seriously, when I look at him I see the future bassist for Sas-Crotch (background: that is a fictional tejano-grunge-Enrique Iglesias Tribute band I have made up in my head that has a really big female lead singer-it's like "Right Said Fred" after a case of Ol Milwaukees Best...w/ lime of course)!
Rock on brutha!!!

I've known Lydia's family for years, as we grew up in the same hometown of Brenham, Texas.  However, due to our (it pains me to say this) age difference, we never really knew each other.  I haven't seen her in decades, so imagine my surprise when she called me to see if I could shoot her wedding.  Knowing her family's appreciation for all things artistic, I was immediately excited and very much looking forward to the big day.

Then, I met up Lydia in Austin at her apartment a couple of weeks ago to photograph the engagement session.  I was introduced to her super cool fiance, Ed, and we all got to know each other throughout our walk around downtown.  Now, I am beside myself waiting for their wedding day!  Lydia and Ed have this chemistry that is like two long lost fitting puzzle pieces who just happen to be magnetic.  They just go together.  I can't imagine them apart, and though they were slightly nervous at the beginning of their session (so they said), I couldn't tell one bit.  They are complete naturals, and it is going to be a joy to photograph them making it official on April 24th!

So, yeah.  It took Millie four and a half years to grow out hair long enough to be worthy of a trim.  You curly girls know how it is.  It takes FOREVER to grow curls out, and one bad cut (read:  crazy scissor-wielding hairstylist broke up with her boyfriend and went Edward Scissorhands on ya) can truly send a curly girl straight to her therapist's office.  Not that it's happened to me or anything.  ;-)

Mills was utterly on fire with excitement and anticipation for her day at the spa.  Of course, I took her to my girl, Bethany, at 209 Downtown Salon and Spa.  Those pink and sparkly places are cute, but we Mefford ladies are for realz...no time to play around.  Go big or GO HOME.  Naturally, Mills was full of expression during her beautification and this continued right through the haircut, to the nail painting (she chose OPI's Jewel of India, in case you were wondering), and to the moment we walked out of the door.  She loved the cape and was surprised how quiet Miss Bethany's blow-dryer was (well, mine would be too if was a professional one!).  I'm so glad I can enjoy being a girl with her.  Our bond keeps getting stronger and stronger, and I am so glad she is my little chica.
